Denver Center Attractions has announced several new, non-subscription additional engagements, including “Mark Twain Tonight,” “Tap Dogs,” “Grease” and “Mamma Mia.”
Smoking ban be damned, Hal Holbrook will appear in his one-man Twain show June 5 at the Buell Theatre. Actually, he gave up the ghost a few years back and now performs the quintessential cigar play without ever taking a puff. News of his return comes just a few weeks after the death of his wife, Dixie Carter.
“Tap Dogs,” created by Olivier Award-winning choreographer Dein Perry, returns to the Buell Theatre Sept. 21-26. It’s described as “a rough, tough, rocking theatrical entertainment.”
“Grease” returns Oct. 12-17. No further keystokes will be expended on this news. And the “Money, Money, Money” Broadway hit of all time, the ABBA-based “Mamma Mia,” seen by over 40 million people around the world, Nov. 2-7. Hey, it’s already grossed $2 billion worldwide. What’s another $1 mil for a week in Denver?
